Mining engineers are responsible for organizing and overseeing the engineering elements involved in the exploration and extraction of minerals, petroleum, and natural gas from the Earth.

Skill Level required for production of Mining Engineer

Most jobs within this group typically require a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. However, at least five years of relevant experience or appropriate vendor certification can be considered in place of formal education. In some cases, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be needed in addition to the formal qualifications (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
