Skill Requirement

Most positions in this unit group require a level of education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher. A formal degree may be substituted for vendor certification or a minimum of five years of relevant experience. In certain cases, a combination of formal education and relevant work experience or on-the-job training may be required (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

What do ICT Support and Test Engineers do?

The role of an ICT Support and Test Engineer includes analyzing and identifying problems related to hardware, hardware installation, hardware repair, email, and network security. Task

  1. Planning, conducting, and evaluating quality audit inspections and reviewing procedures, information, and documents.
  2. Identifying trends and potential risks to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
  3. Recommending corrective actions and monitoring compliance through auditing processes and procedures.
  4. Communicating with management and customers to ensure understanding and adherence to policies, procedures, and quality control.
  5. Developing and delivering expert guidance and training on application software and operating procedures.
  6. Analyzing, evaluating, and diagnosing technical issues and problems, such as setting up, maintaining, updating, and configuring PCs, software, hardware, printers, the Internet, email, databases, operating systems, and security systems.
  7. Testing, identifying and resolving system issues, and programming code in accordance with established testing protocols, guidelines, and quality standards to ensure that systems meet requirements.
  8. Assessing and analyzing company infrastructure designs and recommending current and future hardware and technical solutions.
  9. Creating and maintaining technical documents such as operating, instructional, and procedural manuals, technical notes, and maintenance inventory systems.

English Requirement

  1. IELTS score of minimum 6  (L, R, W), 7 in speaking and 7 overall;
  2. OET score with a minimum grade of B in all sections;
  3. TOEFL iBT with a minimum score (L:12, R:13, W:21, S:23, and overall L93);
  4. PTE Academic with a minimum score of 50 (L, R, W), 65 in speaking, and 65 overall

  • In some states and territories, Priority Skilled Lists can be used to meet a certain requirement.
  • The United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, and Ireland will not be allowed to take the IELTS or OET.
